Now there’s a fair amount of beer.
Part of the new brewery is a climate controlled warehouse for
beer kits, malt extract and of course Coopers Pale Ale (on the
left) and Sparkling Ale (on the right).

In order to achieve an ISO 9002 quality rating,
the Coopers Brewery does extensive testing
of all their products before they are released for local sale,
or shipment to North America.

With the move into the new brewery,
the Coopers Brewery also saw a “changing of the
guard”. Bill Cooper, and his cousin Maxwell,
both fourth-generation descendants of Thomas Cooper, retired.
Dr. Tim Cooper, Bill’s son, is now the Managing Director.
Dr. Cooper is a UK trained cardiologist who left medicine to
study brewing at the University of Edinborough before returning
to Adelaide to run the brewery. He continues to volunteer his
medical expertise at local clinics. The new Chairman of the
Board of the Coopers Brewery is Glenn Cooper, a fifth-generation
descendent of Thomas. Glenn is also responsible for the marketing
of the Coopers Brewery, and is well known in North America for
his love of meeting with groups of homebrewers and tipping a
few at the local brewpubs. Homebrew clubs in LA and Seattle
are still recovering from his last visit.

Thank you for me on a tour of the Coopers Brewery. We hope you have enjoyed it as much as we did. Boy, I don’t know about you, but there is nothing like taking a brewery tour to make me thirsty. So, hey, pull a Coopers brew and play me a game of checkers. I promise to go easy on you.
Cheers
Tom Heffernan
